Special Issue of Elektotechnik & Informationstechnik (e&i)
to appear in Spring 2006
“New Computing in Medical Informatics & Health Care”
Submission Deadline: September, 15, 2005

The e&i is an internationally renowned and outstanding technical 
periodical (listed e.g. in IEE INSPEC). It is the oldest technical & 
industrial journal in the German-speaking world. In spring 2006, a 
special edition "New Computing in Medical Informatics & Health Care" 
will appear following the guiding principle: “The old computing is about 
what computers can do – the new computing is about what people can do” 
(Shneiderman, 2003)

Topics include but are not limited to:
-  Mobile, Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing in Health Care
-  Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) in Medical Applications
-  Accessing, Retrieving and Storing Medical Multimedia
-  Benefits of Internet Applications for Health Informatics
-  Success stories of Information Technology for Clinicians
-  Applied Bioinformatics
-  Multimedia Electronic Patient Records

Andreas Holzinger, Assoc. Professor of Information Processing, Institute 
of Medical Informatics, Graz, Austria. Manuscripts must be submitted 
directly to andreas.holzinger at meduni-graz.at (acknowledgement will be 
sent upon receipt). Submit two copies in PDF format: One copy with the 
authors’ names, affiliation(s) and contact information and one copy 
without this information, for double blind review. Accepted papers will 
need to comply with the required publication style, consult the
