In diesem Zusammenhang gibt es jetzt einen monatlichen Newsletter. Den
aktuellen Newsletter möchte ich Ihnen hiermit zukommen lassen. 

Wir werden in Zukunft nur die relevantesten Informationen an den
AKMI-Verteiler weiterleiten (wie auch schon bisher).

*1. Online IMIA News*

The new IMIA News website (at http://imianews.wordpress.com ) has
proved
successful so far. Thank you to all who have subscribed to it. There is
a
variety of ways to subscribe and receive regular updates (including
RSS
feeds - so you don't have to remember to keep visiting the website). We
will
continue to improve the functionality and content, including items
syndicated from other sources, in response to your feedback.

We welcome feedback and ideas for further development. For submitting
feedback, news items, etc please email news at imia-services.org

a] Submission dates

Important dates to remember for MedInfo2010:
July 20, 2009 - closing date to take advantage of the new 'Scientific
Mentor
Scheme' (PLEASE NOTE EXTENDED DEADLINE)
September 30, 2009 - closing date for all MedInfo 2010 submissions

***Online registration for submissions is now open - in particular for
those
wishing to use the Scientific Mentor Scheme. See

Please publicise MedInfo 2010 in your national societies, groups,
among
colleagues, and through any mailing lists you may belong to. We wish

encourage widespread awareness of the event, scientific submissions,
and
attendance.
Consider putting a link to the MedInfo 2010 website in your email
signature
file.


*3. MIE2009

*The main EFMI event of the year, the MIE2009 conference, will be held
from
*30th August to September 2nd* in *Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina*. .
Registration can be done via the website www.mie2009.org; the payment
for
the conference can only be done by bank transfer, but the hotel can be
paid
by credit card.

* *4.* *2009 General Assembly meeting*

The 2009 IMIA General Assembly meeting will take place on Wednesday
November
25, 2009 in Hiroshima, Japan (and the IMIA Board on 24 November). This
will
be in conjunction with the 'Collaborative Meetings on Health
Informatics -
CoMHI 2009', which will include APAMI 2009, Working Group and other
meetings, and many associated activities in the period November 21-25.

We will be sending out the first formal invitations around the end of
August.

5. New leadership for IMIA-NI SIG - and request for national
nominations*

The triennial NI Congress, organised under the auspices of the IMIA
Nursing
Informatics Special Interest Group (IMIA-NI) took place recently in
Helsinki, Finland. This is also the time at which the new leadership
takes
over.

Heimar Marin (Brazil) is the new chair of IMIA-NI (2009-2012). In
addition
four vice-chairs were appointed for 2009-2012: William Goossen (The
Netherlands) becomes the vice chair for working groups, Patrick Weber
(Switzerland) becomes the vice chair for communications, Hyeoun-Ae
Park
(Korea) becomes vice chair for membership and Lucy Westbrook (New
Zealand)
becomes vice chair for administration and finance.

Many national society members of IMIA do not have nurse representatives
in
IMIA-NI. If your national society is in this position, please consider
nominating a representative; contact Prof. Hyeoun-Ae Park (Korea),
vice
chair for membership (hapark at snu.ac.kr)

a
version appears in 'Methods of Information in Medicine'. Some

The "Methods" Table of Contents for each issue will be posted on the
new
IMIA News website. The most recent one relates to Volume 48, Issue 3.
"Methods" also contains IMIA news pages, and these are available as a

8. Vacancies: University of Victoria (Canada)

*The School of Health Information Science, University of Victoria,
Canada
(one of IMIA's Academic Institutional members) is seeking applications
for a
"3 year Limited Term Senior Instructor position (with the possibility
of 2
year renewal) in Health Informatics".

As many people in the northern hemisphere will be in holiday season,
