Informatics
Health Informatics Fellowship Program
The Australasian College of Health Informatics (ACHI) is pleased to
announce the launch of a new Fellowship by Training Program.
President of ACHI Associate Professor Chris Pearce said this was the
first program of its kind in Australasia and contributes to a strategic
approach to health informatics workforce creation by the college. He

next generation of health informatic leaders”.
Co-Founder of ACHI and global leader in health informatics based at the
Australian Institute of Health Innovation, Macquarie University,
Professor Enrico Coiera believes the ACHI Fellowship will become the
minimum requirement for all senior health informatic professionals in
the future.
ACHI is an established professional college of national and
international Health Informatics experts, thought leaders and trusted
advisers. The college is committed to setting the framework for the
education excellence in Health Informatics in the Australasian region.
Fellowship by training candidates will develop their skills and

complex and diverse environments.
Candidates are required to a) complete a research health informatics
PhD at an Australasian university, b) undertake two paid work placements
with an approved government agency or department, industry partner or
NGO and 3) participate in a supplementary learning program that is
designed to expose candidates to broader professional academic
experience and facilitate discussion of current trends in health
informatics and thought-leadership.
We are receiving high calibre candidates and will welcome applications
on an ongoing basis. The first cohort of Australasian PhD candidates
will commence in January 2018. There are plans to expand this program

11. JCO Clinical Cancer Informatics Highlights Data Sharing Networks in
Exclusive New Content Collection An essential collection from JCO CCI,
Cancer Research Data-Sharing Networks, uniquely brings together
detailed descriptions of various projects, providing you a forum for
evaluating opportunities, facilitating efficient research, and
increasing the pace of discovery.

Sharing of cancer research data is now possible through membership in a
number of federated networks. Each network has its own objectives,
infrastructure, scope, scale, membership requirements, access to data,
and funding mechanisms. The JCO Clinical Cancer Informatics Special
Content Collection on Data Sharing will initiate a forum for discussing
these networks, so that those of us working in cancer informatics can be
aware of these various opportunities, and hopefully be able to integrate
our efforts to achieve efficient sharing of cancer research data.
