Last December the International Medical <span class=hl>Informatics</span>
Association (IMIA) and the Association of Medical Directors of Information
Systems (AMDIS) as well as Schattauer Verlag, Stuttgart, Germany launched
a new journal: <span class=hl>Applied</span> <span class=hl>Clinical</span> <span
class=hl>Informatics</span> (ACI) ( <a href="http://www.aci-journal.org">www.aci-journal.org</a>
).<br>

We are inviting all IMIA members to submit their work to ACI . The
editorial board of Applied Clinical Informatics is eager to have more
international contributions to our journal. Please note that we accept
publications in varying formats: Original research, <b>case reports</b>,
reviews, news items, and letters to the editor. Instructions to authors can be

As the Official eJournal of the International Medical <span class=hl>Informatics
</span>Association (IMIA) and the Association of Medical Directors of
Information Systems (AMDIS), the ACI will publish approximately 100<br>
peer reviewed articles per year online. ACI aims to establish a platform for
knowledge sharing between <span class=hl>clinical</span> medicine and health IT
specialists. It further intends to bridge gaps between visionary design<br>
and successful and pragmatic deployment. <br>

The core editorial subject matters of ACI are: <span class=hl>Clinical</span>
information systems (including but not limited to electronic medical records
and systems, personal health records, physician/provider order entry,<br>
electronic prescribing, <span class=hl>clinical</span> decision <span class=hl>support</span>,
nursing information systems, patient scheduling and tracking tools, lab
information systems, radiology information systems, PACS, GP information
systems),<br>
administrative and management systems, eHealth systems, information technology
development, deployment, and evaluation, socio-technical aspects of information
technology and health IT training. <br>

The target of ACI is an international and potentially very influential readership,
e.g.: Chief Information Officers, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Financial
Officers, Medical <span class=hl>Informatics</span> Researchers, Nurse<br>
Informaticians, Consultants, Public Health Officials, Vendors, IT Safety
Healthcare providers, <span class=hl>Informatics</span> trainees as well as
